Professor Richard Gibb has an international reputation for his work on regional integration and trading blocs, with a particular focus on southern Africa. He has published several books and numerous international articles on regional trade and regional integration, most recently on the Southern African Customs Union. He has also worked on the trading regime between the European Union and southern Africa, with detailed studies on the Trade, Development and Cooperation Agreement (TDCA), Cotonou and Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs). Professor Gibb obtained his D.Phil from the University of Oxford (Linacre College) before taking a post at the University of Cape Town. Previously Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom, he is now the Director and CEO of the Abu Dhabi Men's College (ADMC) in the United Arab Emirates.
