Mark Pearson is an economist who has been living and working as a consultant to African governments, regional economic organisations, donor organisations and the private sector in Africa over the last 35 years, mainly in the Eastern and Southern Africa region but also with experience in West Africa and Sudan. He has been working on trade, transport, infrastructure and regional integration issues since the 1990s. He has managed large donor-funded projects and led multi-disciplinary teams of professionals working on infrastructure, trade facilitation, and trade policy in a regional context. Mark's recent work has been on trade facilitation and logistics, trade policy, value chains and investment opportunities in infrastructure in Africa.
