Recent appointments to the Brenthurst Foundation Board

The Brenthurst Foundation is honoured to announce the appointment of Mr Kgalema Motlanthe to our Advisory Board.

In accepting the Foundation’s invitation to serve a three-year term on the Board, the former President of the Republic of South Africa and Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC) remarked that he looked forward to joining the Foundation’s “worthy cause of building a better Africa for the future of us all. Furthermore, it will be an honour to work closely with the visionary men and women who are currently serving on the Board of The Brenthurst Foundation.”

The Foundation is delighted to announce two more recent appointments to the Board:

  • Dr Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank from 2005-2010 and a former Minister of Finance and Economic Planning in Rwanda
  • Ambassador Barry Desker, Distinguished Fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and former Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Trade Development Board and Ambassador to Indonesia.

The Foundation’s new Machel Mandela Fellow is Mr Saul Musker. Winner of both the Fulbright Scholarship and the Rhodes Scholarship in 2017, Saul will read for an MSc at Oxford University in September after completing his Fellowship. Ms Nchimunya ‘Chipo’ Hamukoma, a previous Machel Mandela Fellow, has been appointed as a Research Consultant at the Brenthurst Foundation.
