Don't Pay Our Oppressor

A collaboration between South African folk artists Robin Auld and Greg Mills, and Ugandan reggae star Bobi Wine, Don't Pay Our Oppressor traverses genres of rock, pop, folk and reggae.

Wine's soulful verse provides the perfect accompaniment to Mills' and Auld's hard-hitting lyrics which, as the title track hints, speak to themes of struggle, liberation and justice.

From Mills' use of the djembe drum to the reverb of Auld's guitar and artful deployment of call-and-response, the album is a celebration of the continent it came from, providing a rallying call to those who would raise it up.
