South African-born Patrick Esnouf was Chairman of Anglo American in South America until 2004. He has been an investor in and advisor to several junior mining companies active in South America, Chile and Argentina. He was involved in the growth of Andean Resources and was its chairman and the company was sold to Goldcorp in 2010, Argentina's largest mining transaction. He is a director of Los Vascos, the Rothschild winery in Chile. He led the Anglo team in Chile in acquiring Disputada copper. He was on the board of Volcan, a zinc and lead mining company in Peru, on the Chilean Chamber of Mines, was Chairman of Collahuasi, a large copper producer and of an Antarctic tourism venture. After living in Argentina, Brasil and Chile for more than two decades, Patrick has recently returned to South Africa. He has an MBA from Insead.
